Woofin' and Hoofin' Many thanks to the great team of volunteers who ran the 2nd Annual Woofin' and Hoofin' 1 mile doggie dash and 5K people run. It was a great event and much fun was had by all in attendance -- both of the 4 legged and 2 legged varieties! Woofin' and Hoofin' heard of our financial situation caused by our new arrivals who showed up in dire medical straits: two dogs with pnuemonia, our heartworm positive mom to be who birthed a litter of 5 puppies! They generously donated a portion of their proceeds to Great Lakes Lab Rescue and for that we are truly greatful! Thank you so much! Meet Hannah F. She is a very enthusiastic young Elmhurst resident who filled out an application to volunteer with Great Lakes. She is very self-motivated and took it upon herself to create home-made doggie treats. These tasty morsels can be found at DuPage Animal Hospital where all the sales proceeds are donated our account there.
